"Makes Blair Witch look like a walk in the woods"
Friday 18th & Saturday 19th May 2001. The Tereus. Cube Cinema, King Square, Bristol.
Two evenings of mixed media responses to the Tereus tale from Ovid’s Metamorphoses, brought together in performance: experimental music, film, photography and dance. Local arts collective i.t.a. project took “this grotesque story of lust, mutilation, infanticide and cannibalism” and made it their own: an original dark-beats-driven score, visual imagery and choreography – fused to create one simultaneously presented, fresh response.
