The Subgod boys have been busy of late: after their hectic summer playing festivals (Ashton Court, The Lizard etc) and gigging from Bath to Exeter, the winter saw them recording, remixing and generally drinking too much. Much new mater The four track single, opening with the huge wall of sound you've-heard-nothing-this-big-since-forever new recording of Tear My Heart Out weighs in heavy with both the original and rude-boy-baggy General-Midi remix of the 'God's dark-love manifesto Velodrome TV and finishes with the deep bass ode to electro-pychosis The Devil Has Friends. Sub- bass, guitar storm lyrics that never lie down and a rhythm that's as tight as piano wire. Who said modern life was rubbish? … Rumour has it that Subgod will be doin the big tour this summer in Australia and Japan but before that the boys will be gigging around the UK - and with their barnstorming Bristol gig at the Louisiana on Saturday 12th Feb the tour got off to a blazing start. To a hectic and expectant home crowd, Subgod provided the goods: unleashing the mesmerically huge new tunes Minute Man and Passenger for Satan as well as a stunning all-live version of Velodrome TV. The boys did their bit to restore many a dance fan's faith in the possibilities of live music. Not cheerful but cheering. Fearless music for a world on its heels.
