In heightened states of tinkering with gadetry, Stoloff & Hopkinson dominated the stage with massive, outsize keyboard and synthesiser... "Stoloff-on-keyboards-and-Hopkinson- on-fucked-up-beats", as the robotised intro voiceover had it.

Vivid visuals from EssenhaitchTM: panoramic sunsets floating over an audience in 3D glasses, mixing controls mirrored by high-rise blocks... wide-ranging samples: from Morrissey intoning "I won't share you" to the classic Scooby Doo villain quote, "yes, and I'd've gotten away with it too; if it wasn't for those kids and that dog"... and the robot compere between songs: "loading... will you please wait... your song is now ready to play"... all of these things backed up Stoloff on extra casual French rapping duties, Hopkinson on extra slapstick - and both on cigarettes, bottled beer and showmanship throughout, working over a base of mixing and live scratching from excellent Mr Lovewig, tucked away behind the huge keyboard. After a track with guest rapper Grim, of the Oil Experts, who earned applause of his own, the set built toward a wash of noise, scrawled images searing across the projections, and giving the last word to that robot, speaking out across the amplified disconnected hissing: "keep-an-eye-out-for-Stoloff-&-Hopkinson-in-the- future... you-have-been-warned... the-end". Sound advice following an excellent set that saw Stoloff & Hopkinson & accomplices making a real performance of their music.
