Dance Sessions for the Exchange of Choreographic Ideas

with choreographer Alex Howard

held at Oddfellows Hall, 20 West Park, Clifton, Bristol.

Thursdays 2.30-4.30pm

These weekly sessions focus on different aspects of making dance, from release-based imagery to incorporating text with movement to performance strategies.

Established this year, these sessions provide a rare opportunity and a welcoming environment in which to regularly (or irregularly!) explore movement ideas within a group context. The sessions are attended by local dancers and choreographers at various points in their careers, and also by people approaching dance from other vantage points; attending these sessions in the past, I have met and moved alongside a film-maker, a voice specialist and an aerialist and others...

There is a range of experience and interests here, a relaxed atmosphere and room for everyone: if you're curious, check it out...

Starting on 14th September, the latest programme begins with three open sessions which will be shaped by the interests of those who attend, and from October to December there will also be sessions led by Charlotte Hacker, Gaynor Coward, Viv Jakeman, Elaine Kordys and Ed Williams.

There is a charge of £2/£2.50 to cover the room hire.
